The Problem (We Solved)

Generating the perfect pose for your AI fashion models is frustrating, and time consuming.

Or at least it used to be.

In the past, creating a consistent AI model for your brand, and getting the pose exactly right, meant running countless generations until you got exactly what you wanted.

Over time, in the simple effort to create AI fashion models that helped style clothing for your brand, you’d also be forced to learn how to prompt a generative image model well.

Well - what if English isn’t your native language? What if you’re short on time, or just don’t want to wrestle with the trial-and-error process?

Your goal is a polished catalog of AI fashion model images for your store, not a crash course in writing perfect prompts.

Image References

Image References allow you to upload a photo to use as inspiration during the AI fashion model creation process.

Image Reference lives inside of the Model Create page of the FASHN Studio

You skip the complex prompting altogether; choose a photo with the pose/silhouette that you want and use it as your reference.

With Image References, you can create the perfect shot in a fraction of the time.

What do “pose” and “silhouette” mean?

"pose" example

Want to pose your AI model with its hand on its hips? Find a photo online to use as a “pose” reference and create as many AI models as you want in that position. Notice how in these samples, the Consistent Model takes inspiration from the pose of the “Image Reference”, while retaining the Consistent Model’s body shape and hair style.

"silhouette" example

Like the shape of a model's body online, and want your AI model to match it? Select any image as a "silhouette" reference and get an AI model that matches the reference model's body shape. Notice how in these samples, the shape of the “Image Reference” bodies and clothing (top row) is perfectly transferred over onto our Consistent Model, Faye.

A process that once took hours of prompting frustrations now takes minutes.

If you’re a fashion brand that wants to use a consistent set of poses and body shapes in your catalog, it's easier than ever before to use FASHN's consistent AI models to do so. And now, with Image Reference, all you need to do is pick your perfect pose image and let the AI replicate it flawlessly for each model in your lineup.

How does the Image Reference workflow that we've showcased compare to traditional prompting? Take a look and see for yourself.

A Personal Anecdote and Closing Thoughts

To be totally honest, I spent an entire week straight crafting over 40 prompts just trying to get a few decent, consistent poses, before the Image References feature existed. It drove me nuts. In fact, only a handful of those prompts actually delivered the exact results I needed, even with my fine tuning. It made me realize that there must be a better way.

So, when we built Image References, we were genuinely solving our own frustration. Even this blog post that you're reading right now uses images created directly from this workflow, because it truly works, and it made my life (and hopefully yours too) a thousand times easier.

If you've struggled with getting consistent, professional-quality AI fashion images, trust me, I get it. Give Image References a shot on the FASHN Studio, and I promise you'll wonder how you ever lived without them.

Image Reference FAQ

How do I generate a specific pose using AI image generation tools?

To create a specific pose, simply upload an image containing your desired pose as a "Pose Reference." The AI will automatically replicate the pose onto your chosen consistent model, eliminating the guesswork and endless iterations of manual prompting.

What’s the difference between a "Pose Reference" and a "Silhouette Reference"?

A Pose Reference replicates the exact pose of the source image onto your AI model, preserving your model's original body type and appearance. A Silhouette Reference, however, replicates the body shape or silhouette, adjusting the consistent (if used) AI model’s proportions to match the reference.

Do I need special training or experience in prompting?

No. Using the new Image Reference workflow, you no longer need extensive prompting skills. Simply upload your preferred reference image, and the AI does the rest, streamlining the entire creative process.

Is this workflow faster than traditional prompting methods?

Yes, significantly faster. Previously, achieving precise poses and silhouettes required iteration after iteration. Now, you simply upload a reference image once, hit "Generate," and instantly get the perfect AI-generated image, saving considerable time and frustration.

Are there any limitations on the images I can use as references?

You can use almost any image you have rights to as a reference. However, clear images with well-defined poses or silhouettes yield the best results, making it easier for the AI to accurately reproduce the desired outcomes.

Can I use famous or viral images as image references?

Yes, viral or trending images often make excellent pose references, enabling you to quickly replicate popular or trending poses. Just ensure you have appropriate rights or permissions to use these images as references.
