FASHN v1.5: Our Next-Generation Virtual Try-On Model

We’re excited to announce the early release of our v1.5 model. This significant update is currently available under the 🧪 Experimental toggle in our web app and via the /nightly endpoint for API users. Early feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting smarter fits, streamlined controls, and notably faster performance. We invite all users to test and share their feedback as we prepare to make v1.5 our main model.

What's New in FASHN v1.5?

Better Handling of Bulky and Loose Garments

Our updated model handles garments with complex fits—such as baggy jeans or oversized t-shirts—with significantly improved precision. It now better captures how garments should fit, fold, and the volume they should occupy.

Voluminous wedding gown try-on example: v1.5 is not constrained by the model's original outfit dimensions, and takes as much space as needed for a realistic fit.

Improved Identity Preservation

Body shape, skin texture, and personal characteristics like tattoos are now preserved more accurately, resulting in more relatable try-ons, particularly for consumer-facing applications.

Simplified Controls for Effortless Use

Several previously required manual parameters—like Restore Background, Restore Clothes, Long Top, Adjust Hands, and Cover Feet—are now managed automatically by the model.

Performance Boost: Generation is Twice as Fast

Generation time is cut in half, with approximate runtimes:

- Quality Mode: ~12 seconds

- Balanced Mode: ~6 seconds

- Performance Mode: ~4 seconds

How to Access v1.5

- Web App Users: Activate via the Experimental toggle.

- API Users: Access through the /nightly endpoint. (Note: Not recommended for production use yet.)

Occasional longer wait times may occur as more traffic shifts towards the new model and we optimize our hardware based on usage.

The v1.5 update significantly enhances virtual fitting rooms and fashion photoshoot scenarios.

Integrating the FASHN API into any e-commerce platform is now simpler—only two images (one of the model and one of the garment) are needed to produce high-quality try-ons without additional inputs. Our solution automatically identifies photo type and category, determines what needs removal, and accurately places the new garment, making it an easy-to-implement, plug-and-play solution for engaging consumer experiences.

For content creation or fashion imagery, achieving high-quality, publishable results is now easier. The removal of manual controls and the doubled speed ensure quicker results with significantly less effort.
