Full-Stack Developer @ FASHN AI
FASHN AI is expanding its technical team and seeking an exceptional fullstack developer. Apart from our 2 technical founders, you will be our first technical hire, joining at an exciting moment of rapid growth. This position is fully remote.
About Us
FASHN AI is an AI-first, bootstrapped company pioneering the world's best virtual clothing try-on technology. We focus on two key use-cases: fashion imagery content creation (virtual photoshoots) and consumer try-on (virtual fitting rooms).
Our technology powers two core products:
- Web App: enabling effortless content creation for fashion brands.
- API: delivering our flagship virtual try-on model, actively used by hundreds of applications worldwide.
We're highly profitable, experiencing steady +15% MoM growth, granting us an essentially infinite runway. This allows us to focus on the long term, building products our users genuinely love.
Your Role
🚀 Founding Engineer
Joining us as our first technical hire beyond the founding team, your role will mirror that of a founding engineer.
🗣️ Customer Facing
Our product roadmap is driven by user feedback, giving you a rich backlog of meaningful, user-inspired requests. You'll work closely with users, understand their needs, resolve issues promptly, and represent FASHN AI with professionalism. Your contributions will have an immediate impact, with direct user feedback after each release.
🚢 Shipping
We keep meetings and planning to a minimum, typically no more than 30 to 60 minutes a day, so you can focus on building. We ship new features every few days and move quickly.
🧠 Backend
You'll work on the API and backend systems that power hundreds of active apps. You'll manage production deployments for both the API and app, taking on the DevOps hat to ensure uptime and operational reliability. If there's downtime, expect your inbox to light up with messages from affected users.
🎨 Frontend
You'll also work on frontend development of our app. It should be fast, intuitive, and visually polished, with a clean, minimal UI that meets the high aesthetic bar of the fashion world. There's still no standard for how users should interact with AI tools in this space, so you'll have room to explore, invent, and help define those patterns.
Requirements
- Deep experience with Next.js and modern React development
- Strong understanding of relational databases (we use Postgres-compatible services)
- Solid experience designing, building, and maintaining web APIs
- Experience with creating clean, well-documented JavaScript clients or SDKs for internal or external use
- Proficient in backend development, including performance optimization, scalability, and security best practices
- Comfortable working with cloud infrastructure and serverless or edge-based environments
- Able to debug and improve complex systems across the stack (frontend, backend, database, infra)
- You take ownership, work autonomously, and move fast without compromising quality
There is no minimum years of experience required. However, we are looking for someone who is highly competent, reliable, and collaborative. These qualities are often developed through real-world experience or by solving tough problems in fast-paced environments.
